In a typical architectural office, the method of modeling you choose often depends on the comfort level of those performing the work. You should, however, familiarize yourself with all three methods to have a variety of tools options.

There is no right or wrong way of creating 3D presentations and the last thing you want to do is to rely on only one method of modeling scenes. In the real world, you will use a combination of methods.

Think of it as buying a large set of mechanics tools. You get several cabinets (software packages), each with several drawers (menus and panels). Each drawer is filled with unusual tools (commands and modifiers). Until you familiarize yourself with as many tools as possible and have a feel for where they are and when best to use them, there is no way you can fix a car in a productive and cost-effective manner.

Even though you have the tools to model incredible detail, however, keep in mind that not all detail has to be modeled. Most 3D programs have the tools to create the illusion of 3D geometry when none exists and a productive office must know when it is appropriate to simulate complex geometry instead of modeling it.

Contemporary art paintings cover broadly the years of post World War II up to the present day. The styles of painting in contemporary movements vary widely from one to another. This article covers the major movements of contemporary art, and tries to explain how they link with each other. Some of the key contemporary art eras from the 1950s and 1960s included Abstract Expressionism, Pop Art, Neo-Dada, Minimalism and the New York School.

Famous artists from this era include Andy Warhol, Wassily Kandinsky, Robert Lichtenstein and Jackson Pollock. The earlier art movements of Cubism & Fauvism are believed to have been part inspiration for many of these new directions. The 1960s represented the start of modern culture, and modern art was a key part of it. Traditional art was now joined in the mainstream with these new contemporary styles that had gained popularity and respect across the board. Since the 1970s many additions to contemporary art have been technology based with digital, software & installation art. In parallel with technology, they continue to develop even today and go off in new directions, or sub-movements.

One relatively new, and already very popular art movement is Street art from artists like Banksy which is a progression of the earlier Graffiti art. Many new movements are seeking to break away from the thinking and methods of traditional art, as Abstract Expressionism had tried to some 60 years ago. The independence of mind and creativity remains strong in contemporary artists today, and they have broken away from simply using different canvas or painting techniques, to use entirely different forms of expression, as shown in the Installation art of artists such as Dan Flavin.

Contemporary art represents the completion of the transition from Baroque and Renaissance painting, through Romaticism & Impressionism up to what we have today, with the likes of digital art movements breaking out frequently. The future for contemporary movements seems likely to blend with the path of technology and other new directions which are impossible to foresee.

Many people harbor a lot of different definitions for the form of art known as “painting”. However, in reality, it is merely a simple way to express the person’s inner most desire. It has been practiced for more than thirty thousand years now, in every part of the world. Different artists adopt a lot of various styles; which represents their own taste and inner desires. This method of expressing thoughts is not limited to be illustrated on paper only. There are various other forms of painting too.

For example, drawing pictures on the face of a child has become really popular over the years. It is a fun way to promote a little happiness. Instead of painting on a support surface like paper or board, you simply paint on a person’s face. This has also become a career for many people; even though it involves many hours of hard work. Sometimes, at different festivals around the country, clowns exhibit their own talent in this field. People of all ages stand in long lines to get their face decorated. This form of art is also used on a lot of dance performers. Many of them want their faces painted so that they reflect their emotions and ideas. They feel that with the help of this art form, they are more likely to project the sentiment that they are feeling throughout the dance routine. This also helps the people who are watching the performance to enjoy the effort that the dancers have put into it.

Face drawing has also brought much happiness to a lot of children who have attended their friend’s birthday party. The many different images of clowns, flowers, stars and rainbows have all brought a smile to their faces. Therefore, when you think of painting, be sure to remember all of the fun ways that it can be used.

An artists’ intuition, talent and genius makes an interesting observation when paint is applied to the canvas. We all know that the best things in an artists’ work are so much a matter of intuition. There is so much to be said about this point of view that it discourages questions about the artist intuitive phenomena.

Intuitions are shy things and apt to disappear if looked into too closely. Furthermore, there is a danger that too much knowledge and training can lessen the natural, intuitive feeling for the student, and leave a cold knowledge of the means of expression in its place.

If you are an artist and have what it takes, then you have a consciousness, and you try to produce your best work. Talent can be described as “that which we have” and genius can best be described as “that which hold us.” We may have little control over this power that “hold us”, it may serve us to abandon oneself to its influence. There can be little doubt as to it being the business of the artist to see to it that this talent is developed and proven to be a fit vessel to hold the expression of whatever is given them to express. It must be left to the artists’ individual temperament to decide how hard to pursue any intellectual analysis of the elusive things that are the true matter of art.

When the art student realizes that art training can only deal with the perfecting of a means of expression and that the real matter of art lies above this and beyond the scope of teaching, he cannot have too much of it.

Great things are only done in art when the creative instinct of the artist is recognized and action is taken to bring that art into being.

If you list down the major elements of poster design, one of the next on the list after the Images is the text or the typography. Now, standard poster printing will always have a significant portion of its design dedicated to the text and fonts.

It is crucial that everything about it is perfect before sending the design to the poster printer. That text provides the important information that the color poster is trying to convey and it must be as good looking as possible for people to notice it.

Therefore, if you are looking for nice tricks on how to make your fonts or your typography look better, here are a few font and typography magic tips and tricks that you might want to use.

1. Getting and installing free fonts – Now, one of the best resources for typography are the free fonts over the Internet. There are hundreds of sites out there that offer free downloads from their font databases. You can easily acquire these and install at your leisure for your design application.

Just choose the one that you think is right for your poster design, download it, and install it for your design application. For example, if you want to install new fonts for Adobe applications, you should just download the “TTF” files from the internet and copy it to your C:\program files\common files\adobe\fonts\ folder. You should then be able to use the new font in your color poster designs.

2. Adding shadows to words – In terms of effects themselves for your fonts, adding shadow effects is one of the most common. Shadow effects basically simulate a source of light and the shadow that letters would probably cast when hit by that light. It is a nice effect if you want to have some of your words and texts “come out” lifting them in the design. You have the option usually of shifting the direction of the source of light so that you can change the angles of the shadows to your liking. Most image editing software like adobe Photoshop can do this for you.

3. Adding 3 dimensional effects – You can also use some three-dimensional effects for your fonts. Try to find a feature that offers to “emboss” letters and words so that they look like they are made of something in 3D. These add substance to your color poster designs, which is distinctly different from shadows. Your letters will look like they have been molded into the poster design.

4. Adding texture and fillers – Fonts can also look great if you add textures and fillers. This effect basically fills the body of your characters with more than one color. These fillers can make your letters look like they were made from something such as satin, feathers or even stone and bricks. In addition, some filler add color gradients into the characters, shifting colors as words and sentences are spelled out. This is a good effect if you want to create logos and special headings in your poster design.

5. Adding borders and strokes – Now, if you want to emphasize certain words and letters. You can also add font borders or strokes. These borders are easily used in most design applications. They add an extra color border around characters, increasing the word’s visibility amidst its background.

6. Adjusting character spacing and sizes – Spacing can also be a great thing to play within your poster designs. Most fonts have pre-set spacing and sizes. However, in some design applications you can change this so that characters can appear closer together beyond the usual character spacing. You can even cause them to touch and overlap one another if that is your desired effect in your poster designs. This is pretty useful if your posters are already getting a bit tight on space.

7. Mixing and matching effects – Finally, you should of course not be afraid and mix and match the effects above. You can try for example, adding font borders in your text, while at the same time it has shadows. This gives a more detailed design to your text that can be great for many possible designs. So do not be afraid, experiment with your text fonts or typography.
