Anime is a term for cartoons originating from Japan. A different word is used so it wouldn’t be confused with Western animated shows. Unlike in the West, where cartoons are mainly made for children, Japanese anime can target any age group; furthermore, some shows are intended for adults only.

Anime is a visual medium that gives a lot of freedom for artists to express themselves. Some animes may be heavily stylized, while others take more realistic approaches. They are also known to mix CG effects with traditional hand-drawn animation successfully.

Now that we’ve established that anime can be a medium for any kind of story – not only shows for kids – let’s talk about anime movies. Much like Western producers of animated movies, such as Toy Story or Finding Nemo, Japan has its own anime film industry. However, even though Japanese animation is becoming more popular overseas, not many people are familiar with the more impressive anime works. It’s mostly commercialized and overhyped shows like Digimon or Naruto that are the most popular.

So if you’ve got your first impression of anime through low-quality dubbed kid shows you saw on TV, that’s not enough of a reason to decide that all anime is bad. You should watch some of the best anime movies instead – such as “Spirited Away” by the Japanese anime genius Hayao Miyazaki. This animated movie has won an Oscar, and is also the first (and so far, also the only) non-English animated work to win an Academy award.

Movies by Hayao Miyazaki (such as Howl’s Moving Castle, Princess Mononoke, and so on) are always a good bet when looking for great anime films to watch. There also are other classics like Grave of the Fireflies, Ghost in the Shell or Akira. Most of these movies are translated and dubbed so you will have no trouble acquiring the DVDs and enjoying the fantastic journey.

The influence that Japanese anime has had on the Web is really important. In the early days of modern web communications, the Internet became an popular source of information for followers of the series that were given at that period. Aficionados of shows like Robotech, which had been a heavily debated combination of three Japanese series, opened the door for the huge presence that manga has on the web today. Many enthusiasts have preferences about animations on the web, but the large American brokers of the classification have their own niche as well. Viz Media, for instance, maintains a big presence with their offerings. Bleach, Naruto, Death Note, and One Piece are among the most cherished modern programs. As these are Viz properties in North America, they are well promoted as part of the manga Internet series belonging to Viz Media.

Fan based homepages are often the only data in English about pending Japanese anime, as well as classic series that were never available in North America. Western followers are very typically in the dark regarding such releases, and the data they can glean about these anime electronically is usually the only information that is provided to them.

The chasm that these websites fill is as profound as the complete presence of cartoons electronically. As Japanese anime continues to swell worldwide, the want and scope of websites that cater to its clientele will change with it. Web forums and blogs will certainly have to evolve to keep up with the swelling demands of a fanbase that puts incomparable effort into its own masterpieces.

Cartoon animation is a short film that is hand drawn, which highlights a story for cinema or television. In making cartoon animation, the characters and the story line must be planned first. The artist must put it together in motion. A sequence of figures that shows the slight difference in the stage of motion must be drawn. Each picture has to be snapped separately per frame and then put in the screen in a pace that is just enough to make it look like a continuous movement. Cartoon animation is considered a form of writing in its own way. Every figure and its movement represent every word in the traditional sense of writing. The cartoon must have a story and an expression. The story must not necessarily have an in depth story, but the artist should keep it simple enough to keep the attention of the viewers.

There are lots of strategies that can be used to make an effective animation. All of the latest methods are used by top animation studios like Walt Disney. Nowadays, animation is done with computers but they retain the illusion that the images are drawn using the artist’s hands. Computer generated cartoon animation gives the artist so many tools that can never be done using hand-drawn animation. Also, animation does not necessarily imply that it is a cartoon. Most types of computer animation are not considered as cartoons in the true sense of the word. A cartoon animation that uses Adobe Flash is called a webtoon.

Animation is famous in television commercials because of the artistry, entertainment and humor it provides. Some commercials that use cartoon animation are still alive and visible like the commercial of Kelloggs Cereal. And who has not heard of the Flintstones? This animated series has been a successful primetime cartoon in the United States, running for so many years and is loved by a lot of children. Many other cartoon series followed the footsteps of the Flintstones, like “The Simpsons” which was just recently released as a full length film. Not only in television has the cartoon animation industry become popular, it also successfully made its way to the film industry.

Cartoon animators are artists that make drawings that seem to move in a space that is two dimensional. The drawings are drafted by the animators using the hands or with the use of a specialized computer program. Cartoon animators usually work in the in the line of entertainment since cartoon animation is now widely used in the advertising and web design industry. If you want to have a career in cartoon animation, there are many schools that offer programs in animation techniques. By attending these programs, the artists will have more knowledge on the field of animation where they want to specialize.

Anime, which is the shortened version of Japanese term animation, is huge in Japan. It is a genre that produces massive profits and it has been around for nearly 100 years. Anime is not only released in Japan but around the world. It is translated into multiple languages, bringing in billions of dollars every year. Anime originated sometime around 1917. Japanese filmmakers began experimenting with animation techniques that were coming out of European countries; the oldest known anime clip consisted of a samurai warrior testing a new sword that lasted 2 minutes. By 1933, companies were releasing anime that had sound.

In 1937, after the successful release of Disney’s Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, a Japanese animator named Osamu Tezuka managed to simplify many of Disney’s trademark animation techniques into something cheaper that let him both experiment with his animations and still get them out on a very tight schedule. The manga boom of the 1970s also helped the industry grow. Mangas are Japanese comics, many of which ended up being turned into anime later on. This practice is still hugely popular in Japan where the most popular anime shows are actually adaptations of Japanese manga. By the 1980s, anime had become popular and accepted by the mainstream in Japan and that also caused production to increase. When several anime shows such as Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Sailor Moon, and Cardcaptor Sakura were released, anime’s fame became popular in overseas countries in the 1990s, further establishing anime as one of Japan’s most successful industries. Animes are defined by several unique things. While it’s true that artists have their own personal vision for their art, there are some stylistic elements that are now present in all anime. These include things like very large eyes, very complex hairstyles, and elongated limbs. Body proportion is directly related to the length of a head. For instance, almost all anime characters are drawn to a standard “eight heads” and then if they are taller, another “head” of height is added. The characters also have very large eyes that can be brilliantly colored in shades like silver or purple. The colors are added with the purpose of giving the eye’s cornea depth. This is done by shading the eye with a light color, the tone color, and then a darker color.
